About Drumalis

A Passion for People
and for the Earth.

Drumalis has been an outreach for the Sisters of the Cross and Passion since 1930. Since that time the foundation stone for the ministry of Drumalis has been the Passionist charism, expressed through creating a place of hope and healing in the midst of struggle and suffering.

This mission will be implemented in line with the pastoral focus of the Sisters of the Cross and Passion for our time, which is to focus to the pain of the earth and of those for whom there is no justice in our world. Our response will be faithful to:

>> Our personal and communal ecological conversion and commitment to the work of justice and peace

>> Our attempts to articulate, together with our colleagues and companions, a contemporary theology and spirituality that’s is relevant to our time

>> Taking courageous action in the face of growing threats to our environment and to the peace of our world

Our Vision

To be a vibrant sanctuary for spiritual growth, social justice, and ecological transformation - respected across Ireland and beyond as a beacon of hope, inclusion, and sacred activism.

Our Mission

To accompany individuals and communities on a journey of faith, peacebuilding, and ecological awareness - drawing from our Passionist tradition while welcoming all who seek a more compassionate and sustainable world.

Faith

A welcoming space for people to explore, rethink, and deepen their spiritual lives. Open to people from across the Christian denominations, other faith backgrounds and to all those searching for meaning and purpose in their lives. We are particularly interested in understanding the role of faith in a community coming out of conflict.

Peace & Justice

Cultivating a culture of non-violence, reconciliation and human rights. Through dialogue, education and collaboration with faith, community, youth and civic partners, Drumalis supports conflict transformation and societal healing.

Care for Creation

Inspiring stewardship of the Earth through spirituality, sustainability and action. Drumalis combines retreats, education and practices with green, ethical operations, reflecting Laudato Si’ and global care-for-creation movements.

Our Aims

At Drumalis, we strive to be a place of hope, care and renewal - for people, communities and the Earth. We are committed to supporting those in need, healing divisions, nurturing faith and protecting creation, empowering everyone to play a part in building a just, peaceful, and sustainable world.

  1. To provide a space for those who are in need, to support those who are ‘crucified’ by injustice, poverty and oppression, and people who are in need as a result of their youth, age, poverty, disability, infirmity or social and economic circumstances

  2. To work for a peaceful and reconciled community and to create a space for the healing of the wounds of conflict and division

  3. To promote the healing of the earth through embracing ecological initiatives. At the heart of this project is the belief that the regeneration of people is achieved in partnership with the regeneration of the land

  4. To be a source of growth and faith development to enable people to take up the call to build a church that recognises “the equality of dignity and action among Christ’s faithful” (Canon 208)
